HYPNOTHERAPY FOR WEIGHT LOSS and
EATING DISORDERS
HARD Facts about Weight Control
It is easier for MEN to lose weight MORE QUICKLY than women.
Mental Attitude
WOMEN seem to spend half their lives obsessed with dieting. Women are more concerned with feelings and details. They overcomplicate weight. Emotions get in the way - they eat a 'forbidden' food and are swamped by guilt. Womens' motivation for losing weight is often wanting to look better. Women diet regularly, often strategically, at certain times, such as before a holiday, and are tempted by the latest fad diet. Because women have previously tried lots of diets which didn't work, they start with preconceived ideas, assuming they will fail, and that leads them to breaking the diet.
MEN on the other hand are not constantly "on a diet". If they do choose to diet, they throw their all into it. Men tend to enter into a diet with a more positive attitude. They believe it will work, and this then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Men are more motivated to weight loss for health concerns - and recent research suggests that those who have a reason beyond the desire to simply look better have a higher chance of success.
BUT it's not all about psychology....... it's evolutionary
There are huge differences in male and female hormones, body shape and fat percentage which all make it harder for women to lose weight. The male hormone testosterone and the female hormone oestrogen shape our fat distribution at puberty, and continue during our lifetime.
Women graduate towards a pear shape with fat around the hips, while men store fat more centraly around their belly from where excess weight is more easily lost. On top of that, oestrogen encourages fat storage, while men have more muscle mass so higher metabolism which burn calories quicker.
MEN were hunter-gathers, while women reproduced. For reproduction there needed to be sufficient fat reserves for any unborn child in the womb to survive the harsh life pre-historic women endured with periods of little food.
What has this got to do with you now?
Times have changed but genetically, WE HAVE NOT. So not only do we have an internal battle going on trying to fight our genetic makeup, but also external battles with today's food, pressure to look good etc...

They are miserable, having tried every conceivable diet which hasn't worked, because those diets don't address the issues, emotions and feelings standing in the way of getting back the control. There are reasons why we turn to food other than hunger...
sadness, boredom ,stress, comfort for example. Together we find out those reasons and change the way you think, feel, and behave around food. You eat to live, not live to eat. The ONLY feeling food satisfies is hunger.
This amazing programme of 5 two hour sessions will change your life.
The Hypnotic Gastric Band, (otherwise known as hypno-band weight loss system or virtual gastric band, can PERMANENTLY control your weight!
You have three two hour preparation sessions, followed by a two hour session whereby we go through a 'procedure' using operating theatre conditions, and the result is you believe you have a gastric band fitted around your stomach. This reduces the amount you can eat, and so eliminates that internal mental battle of portion control. Also snacking will be a thing of the past. We address any food addictions or cravings you have, and get your eating habits under control on a deep subconscious level. So it is EASY for you to lose your excess weight and keep it off.
Six to eight weeks later you can come for your fifth session, much as you would have a check up after invasive surgery at the hospital, to monitor your progress, and see how quickly you are losing weight - we average three to four pounds a week. We can then adjust the band, to loosen it or tighten it accordingly.
This treatment is becoming so popular, it is now being aired on TV.......
There are various names for this treatment, however we are qualified practioners of the hypnotic gastric band. Some clients prefer to have their first four sessions within a week, Monday to Thursday. Some wish to spread it over a number of weeks. The choice is yours.

MORE HARD Facts about Weight Control
In 2008 nearly a quarter of adults (over 16 years of age) in England were obese (BMI over 30). Just under a third of women, 32%, and 42% of men were overweight (BMI of 25-30). About 30,000 people die of the consequences of obesity each year with increasing numbers
Obesity is slowly overtaking one of the most prominent killers: smoking. With its severe impact on health obesity is becoming a severe burden on the NHS. Direct costs are estimated to be 4.2 billion Pounds, costs for the wider economy are estimated to be about 16 billion Pounds (2008), constantly increasing. Evidence suggests obesity is on the rise, with 1 in 4 adults now obese.
The health risks related to obesity: heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, stroke, sleep apnea, gout, osteoarthritis, joint problems, gall bladder disease, some forms of cancer etc.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the World Health Organization establish adult weight guidelines based on body mass index (BMI). To calculate BMI in English (or imperial) units, divide weight in pounds by height in inches squared (lb/in). Then multiply by 703. In metric units BMI is determined by dividing weight in kilograms by height in metres squared (kg/m). A BMI of 19 to 25 is considered a healthy range. A BMI of 26 to 30 is considered moderately overweight. A BMI of 31 to 35 indicates obesity, and a BMI of 36 to 40 indicates severe obesity. An individual with a BMI of more than 40 is considered morbidly obese.
What is a calorie, and what do calories have to do with weight control? A calorie is a unit of energy supplied by food. The human body needs a minimum number of calories each day just to sustain normal functioning.
People who are overweight take in more calories than their bodies need, and the body converts the unused calories into fat. What is the mechanism of weight reduction? Simple: Burn more calories than are consumed. That means in order to lose weight one must reduce caloric intake or increase calorie-burning activity or both. How many calories must one burn to accomplish one pound in weight reduction? A whopping 3,500 calories! (One kilo in weight reduction takes approximately 7,700 calories!)
To slim down by one pound (or approximately a half kilo) in seven days, an individual would have to lower calorie intake by 500 calories a day or increase physical activity sufficiently to burn off 500 calories a day (or, more likely, a combination of both). The number of calories burned depends on the type of activity.
Examples:
- 30 minutes of walking up stairs or skiing on a skiing machine
- 60 minutes of jogging, aerobic dancing, skipping rope, tennis, or bicycling
- 120 minutes of swimming, horseback riding, dancing, badminton, or volleyball
- 150 minutes of walking, housework, or yard work
Exercise is a very important because it builds muscle, burns calories, and increases metabolism. Although burning off 500 calories a day from increased activity and reduced food intake is doable, such a regimen is too extreme for most individuals. If the 500-calorie reduction comes only from reducing food, the lower calorie intake may trigger the body’s energy-conservation response, which slows the metabolism. The body gets the idea that it may starve and lowers metabolism to conserve energy. A reduction of 250 calories a day is less likely to trigger the energy-conservation response. At a calorie-reduction and burn rate of 250 calories a day, an individual could drop one pound in two weeks.
If you are not able to exercise fully for reasons such as disability or poor health, there are other ways of burning fat. If you are chair bound there are plenty of exercises you can do sitting in your chair. In hypnosis we can speed up your metabolic rate, that is the rate at which your body burns food.
Sleep is extremely important to weight loss. Good quality sleep helps your body regenerate. If you are insomniac, hypnotherapy can help retrain your sleeping patterns, ensuring you get maximum amount of rest.
FOUR to SIX sessions of HYPNOTHERAPY is all it takes to retrain your mind and body
Together we can work through this comprehensive programme to ensure you are firmly on the high road to success!
NOW......CONSIDER THE BENEFITS OF VIRTUAL GASTRIC BAND WEIGHT LOSS! - for those who are more than two stones overweight
As obesity rates around the world soar, demaind for gastric band surgery has never been higher. The success stories of celebrities have encourages thousands to follow in their footsteps.... at a cost of around £7000!! Bariatric surgery is becoming increasingly necessary to save the lives of morbidly obese patients. The fitting of a surgical GASTRIC BAND results in most patients achieving a steady weight loss until they have reached their target weight. But WHY go for painful surgery when you can have the PSYCHOLOGICAL GASTRIC BAND 'fitted' for a mere £550, without the implications of anesthetic, surgical procedure and the very possibly after surgery complications? You may be put off due to a fear of hospitals, anaesthetic, or the length of time it takes to recover.
The HYPNOTIC BAND is intended for people who have stones to lose rather than pounds. Anyone who is overweight by 2 stone or more may want to consider the HYPNOTIC GASTRIC BAND. In reality- the gastric band is generally reserved for those people with a BMI of 35 or over. Having an imaginary gastric band fitted during hypnosis is an ingenious way to help overweight people shed the pounds easily and effectively. The Hypnotic Band is designed to create a different relationship with food for the patient, so they eat much smaller portions and enjoy a generally healthier diet. Just as having the traditional Gastric Band surgically fitted is not a quick fix, nor a miracle cure, neither is the Hypnotic Gastric Band, with both procedures a number of lifetyle changes are required.
The success stories of having a hypnotic gastric band, or hypno-band, have been well documented in the news recently, with a reported success rate of 80%, which is HIGHER than actually having the surgical procedure which works for only 70% of people. Currently we are experiencing 100% success rates with this controlled form of weight loss.
This programme is based on 4 days of treatment which can be taken on consecutive days, over a couple of weeks or longer if the client wishes, and a session approximately 8 weeks after completion of the main therapy to find if the rate of weight loss being achieved is in line with expectations and possibly 'adjust' their gastric band. Each session lasts about 2 hours.

EATING DISORDERS - How can hypnosis & hypnotherapy help you?
Overeating & Binge Eating
If you regularly overeat or indulge in binge eating, then you probably know full well what it feels like to be out of control of your actions, physically uncomfortable and filled with remorse.
Such is the cycle of the typical overeater/binge-eater.
But there is a way to break this cycle so you can feel more relaxed around food, be in control of your eating and feel normal once again.
When those urges come you may experience them as being like a 'secret, greedy person' inside, as if a different part of you takes over. The beauty of hypnosis and hypnotherapy is that it can help you deal with these urges at the level from which they arise, from that 'secret, greedy' you.
Once your emotional attachment to food has been resolved you will no longer desire to overeat or binge-eat. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help you do this extremely effectively, so the urges to binge/over-eat dissolve away naturally.
This can all happen relatively quickly and easily, if you wish, and peace of mind, being relaxed around food and back in control can all be yours the moment you feel ready to make it happen.
Comfort Eating
If you comfort eat food to fill a space in your heart, then trying to reduce your level of comfort eating alone is going to seem difficult, painful and emotionally depressing.
As you know, food is not your real problem - that's just the symptom. The real cause of your comfort eating lies with the underlying feelings and emotions you are trying to surpress.
When you let go of the emotional attachment to food and resolve your underlying issues, your comfort eating will reduce and disappear all by itself.
Hypnotherapy and hypnosis can help you do this extremely effectively. The result will mean that you will feel no deprivation, no need for will power and will no longer desire to comfort eat when your emotions get the better of you.
As a further result, you will most likely lose some weight without thinking about it, feel lighter & brighter inside, and feel much happier when you look at yourself in the mirror.
Hypnotherapy can help you put an end to comfort eating with ease and the sooner you make the decision to stop, the sooner you can start enjoying the benefits.
Fear of trying new food
For a while now you have experienced an inner resistance to trying out new foods and this is an issue that you have decided to overcome with the help of hypnosis. Your problem isn’t that you simply don’t like those foods, but rather that you think you won’t like them so haven’t wanted to try them. In other words the block to becoming more adventurous in your eating habits lies directly in your mind, and as you already know, the mind is a very powerful part of us all. Hypnosis works by accessing the subconscious mind, the part of you that has accepted previously installed thoughts and ideas, and many of those thoughts and ideas weren’t even yours when they were accepted. They were instilled in some way by people or events that influenced you, probably as a very young child. Now that you are older, wiser and more mature, you can decide what you do and do not like, you can decide for yourself, and you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that many of the foods that you used to avoid will now taste so good to you. This new discovery will apply not only to what you eat and drink but to many other areas of your life.
Eating Out - Social Phobia
Eating in a social environment can be very daunting for some people. You may feel unable to relax while eating out, feel everyone is watching you , everything seems to noisy, too busy, too intimidating, and this has caused you worry and stress. There may have been a very good reason why you commenced this behaviour, however as with most things, people change, and when this happens they realize that it is time to let go of this old habit.
You already feel that you want to enjoy eating normally and to look forward to eating socially with other people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere…
However as you probably already know, the mind and the brain control the physical body, so for this transition to normal eating behaviour to take place easily and effortlessly we must first make changes in the way that we think about eating out..
Bulimia Nervosa
If you are like most of the people I’ve treated in the past, your behaviour probably started some time ago at a rather ‘difficult’ period in your life. The bulimia helped you feel better for a while, more in control and gave you an inner sense of strength and secret security. But with time it has probably taken over you, so that you now feel it controls you.
Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy is ideal for sorting out your Bulimia because it gets to the very root of the problem and resolves it with ease. Once you know the REAL reason why you do what you do, the answer is obvious and that’s what the special form of hypnosis and hypnotherapy helps you understand.
Over the years I’ve helped many, many people in this way and you too can join them. No more binging, no more vomiting, no more guilt, no more shame, no more secrecy, no more ‘this is the last time’, and no more feeling bad inside. You’ll have more time, more energy and more peace of mind as your self-esteem will increase and your confidence flourish.
Whatever you may have read or heard, this does not have to take a long time and using hypnosis and hypnotherapy your bulimia can be resolved with relative ease.
Anorexia Nervosa
The problem with Anorexia is that you don't actually feel you really have a problem.
OK, you do like to feel in control of your eating and weight and you might feel quite panicky if it fluctuates too much. You might feel frustrated at not being able to lose weight and feel very stressed and anxious when you look at your self in the mirror, because all you see is how fat you are.
There's another problem too, the idea of 'being cured' of your 'problem' is probably very undesirable, because the very thought of being 'cured' makes you feel quite uneasy as it implies that you will start to eat more food and put on more weight than ever, and that's the thing you most want to avaoid.
However, you are not happy, and that's where hypnosis can help you. You may feel anxious a lot of the time and your self-esteem may be low. You probably don't feel that good about yourself and are not really sure which direction to go to find help, if you really need help.
You are in control of your weight and what you eat and you like it that way, so the very last thing you’ll want to do is lose or relinquish that control as being in control is important to you…..and that’s both normal and ok….to want have control that is. That’s why we won’t need to talk about food, weight, appearance or any of those things you’re probably really tired of discussing. We’ll agree right at the start to leave them to one side while we just concentrate on getting you to where you want to be.
